COUPLES FOR CHRIST

Couples for Christ (CFC) is a Catholic movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. CFC couples have committed themselves to the Lord and to one another so that they may grow in maturity as men and women of God and fulfill their primary vocation of raising families grounded in Christian values, in the service and love of God.

CFC has established its family ministries. This has provided a "womb-to-tomb" renewal ministry, where persons are evangelized at the youngest age and sustained as they grow through the different stages and states of life. CFC Kids for Christ, CFC Youth for Christ, CFC Singles for Christ, CFC Handmaids of the Lord, and CFC Servants of the Lord provide a support environment for every member of the family. A person moves from one ministry to the next, as his state of life changes. Thus, the whole lifetime of a person while on earth is covered.

JEBEL ALI YOUTH (JAY)

Pope Benedict XVI had challenged young people to “dare to be glowing saints, in whose eyes and hearts the love of Christ beams and who thus bring light to the world.” The St. Francis of Assisi, Jebel Ali Youth group strives to bring this ideal into the hearts of the youth in the parish. The group meets every Friday of the catechetical year at 9:00am and welcomes all youth in the parish from post confirmation up to 18 years. The group aims at encouraging the youth to be an active member of the parish as well as the larger Church and in the process of service to develop their Faith and strive to be the saints we are called to be.

JESUS YOUTH — JY

An international Catholic youth movement with a Charismatic spirituality. It is active in many different countries throughout the world. Jesus Youth is an initiative of young people themselves, who, filled with the Holy Spirit try to reach out to other young people. The strength of the movement is its special focus on a life centered on the Lord Jesus Christ; beginning with an experience of God, nourished by prayer, the Word of God, the sacraments and fellowship, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.

Though not an actual community, Jesus Youth is a network of small but vibrant groups of young people. In their own life situations, they strive to give time to the Lord, responding to the challenges of today’s world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
